Tea stained paper can be made into a gift-quality stationery set. You've made the tea stained paper for the greeting cards or stationery, and now you want envelopes to match. Save money by making your own custom size envelopes with your prepared, dried paper, without using a fancy envelope making kit.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tea stained paper
  • Envelope new or used
  • Pencil
  • Gum eraser
  • Scissors
  • Straight edge ruler or bone folder
  • Glue stick or double stick tape
  1. Step 1

Carefully loosen the glued parts of an envelope which is the size that you need. Steam the envelope open if it will tear too easily.

  2. Step 2

Lay disassembled envelope on a flat work surface. Be sure the envelope is dry if you had to steam it open.

  3. Step 3

Place tea stained paper under the envelope which is your pattern. Carefully trace envelope with a pencil. Cut it out with scissors.

  4. Step 4

Use a ruler or bone folder to fold the tea stained paper into envelope shape. Copy the folds of the envelope that is your pattern.

  5. Step 5

Take glue stick or double sided tape and adhere the tea stained paper to match the glued areas of the envelope pattern. Let dry before inserting cards or stationery paper. Erase any pencil lines that show.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure tea stained paper is very dry before making an envelope from it.
  • Do not insert anything into the envelope until glue is dry or it may get glued by mistake and be ruined.
