Cashmere sweaters are a wonderful investment for a stylish wardrobe. But caring for it so it will last many years and still look fabulous is essential! Here are some tips to do just that!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Woolite
  • 2 small buckets
  1. Step 1

    Place a small amount of woolite, like a teaspoon into a small bucket of cold water. Gently place the sweater into the water. Let is sit for about 30 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    After an hour, transfer the sweater to another bucket of fresh cold water. Gently swirl the sweater into the water and lift a couple of times to make sure their is no leftover woolite on it. Let it sit in the water for about 15 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    After 15 minutes, pour the water out of the bucket. Make sure the bucket is empty and then place the sweater back in, Gently squeeze, don't wring and water that is left on the sweater.

  4. Step 4

    Find a flat surface, such as the top of your washer and place a bath towel on it. Lay the sweater flat onto the towel and let dry. Once the sweater is fully dry, fold it and place it on a shelf in your closet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hand washing your cashmere will save on dry cleaning costs and the results are just as good is not better.
  • A little piling is normal, but will not happen as much with higher ply and quality cashmere.
