How to Get Red XIII's Ultimate Weapon in "Final Fantasy 7"
Each of the characters in Final Fantasy 7 has a specific ultimate weapon they can acquire that does more damage than any of the earlier weapons available in the game. The wolf creature named Red XIII can find his ultimate weapon by seeking out an old friend of the party's near the end of the main story line.

Play through the game until your party parachutes into the city of Midgar and beats the boss named Hojo at the top of the Shinra headquarters building.

Leave Midgar and take the airship to the location called Cosmo Canyon.

Put Red XIII into your party and head into the large observatory at the top of Cosmo Canyon.

Find the floating scientist named Bugenhagen.

Speak with Bugenhagen and he will give the party an item called "Limited Moon," which is Red XIII's ultimate weapon.

Tips & Warnings
Any materia you equip on Red XIII's ultimate weapon will not gain experience or rise in level, so only use it when the extra physical damage is worth the trade-off, or all of your materia is already at it's highest level.
