Start with the pants. Red pants are probably the hardest part of this outfit to find. You'll need a pair of red pants for the classic fireman look. You can spice up the costume by wearing red shorts or capris to make it look a bit more stylish.

2
Check out a party or costume store for a fireman's helmet. You can usually find a plastic version for under $5. If you're really stuck, you can use a red hat and just add a fire company emblem to the front.

Look in your closet for galoshes. Red or black are best, but really, any color can give the same effect. If you don't have any, you can usually find rain boots or something similar at a large retail store for just a few dollars.

4
Check your drawers for a white T-shirt. However, you can make it funky by taking a simple undershirt and drawing on it. You can add a fake fire company number or even a catchy slogan like "So hot I'm on fire." Make it fun and your costume will gain attention.

Find the classic suspenders. You probably don't have red or black suspenders in your closet, but you can do the same with fabric border trim for the fabric or craft store. Just cross in the back and pin to your pants and you'll have real fireman suspenders.
