How to Create Appointments in Gmail Calendar Using Text Messaging
Google's Gmail calendar provides busy people the opportunity to organize their life right from their mobile phone. Whether you need to log in your child's doctor appointment, tomorrow's big test or schedule a business meeting, it can now be done on the go. All appointments can be scheduled in your Google Gmail calendar by sending a simple text message, you will never miss that meeting again.

Log in to your Google calendar and ensure that your mobile phone is synchronized to your calendar by selecting settings in the upper right-hand corner.

Select "Mobile Set Up" under "Calendar Settings." If your phone is not already registered with your Google calendar, enter in your country and mobile phone number (with area code). Select your carrier from the drop down list, and verify all information was entered correctly and click the "Send Verification Code" button. This will generate the system to send a code to your mobile phone via text message.

Once you have received the text message stating your verification code, return to the Google calendar mobile setup page. Carefully enter the code into the box labeled "Verification Code." Click the "Finish Setup" button. You should see a green check mark with with a statement informing you that your phone number was successfully validated. You are now ready to send appointments to your calendar via you mobile phone!

Return to your mobile phone and create a new text message. For example, "Blaine doctor appointment at 6404 building on Monday at 5 p.m. " send the message to GVENT (48368). Your Google calendar will interpret the information sent and log it into your calendar.
