Even if your little girl has never taken a dance lesson in her life, there is a good chance that she has dreamed of becoming a prima ballerina when she grows up. On her birthday, you can make her dream somewhat of a reality by throwing a beautiful ballerina party. Your birthday girl and her friends will have a great time, and you do not have to spend too much time or money.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pink construction paper or card stock
  • Pink ribbon
  • Hole punch
  • Balloons, streamers and confetti
  • Toys dressed as ballerinas
  • Tutus
  • Ballerina picture
  • Posterboard
  • Balloons
  • Sandwiches
  • Fruit
  • Toothpicks
  • Pink lemonade
  • Cupcakes and pink frosting
  • Ballerina cupcake toppers
  • Drawstring bags and party favors
  1. Step 1

Fold pink construction paper or card stock in half and cut out the shape of a pair of ballet slippers for each invitation. Punch two holes in the slippers on the front of the card and tie a piece of pink ribbon through the holes. Compose your invitation inside the card.

  2. Step 2

Decorate using lots of pink and purple balloons and ribbons. Scatter pink and glittery confetti on the tables. If your daughter has any toys that have ballerina outfits, such as a teddy bear or Barbie doll, place them in the room. Place some full-length mirrors in the room, with streamers hanging from them so the ballerinas can watch themselves twirl.

  3. Step 3

Give each guest a tutu, which she can wear during the party and take home as a party favor. Play "Pin the Tutu on the Ballerina" using a ballerina drawing or picture printed from your computer on a piece of posterboard. Tie balloons onto ribbons and have each girl tie one to her ankle. Play classical music and have the ballerinas dance around the room, trying not to allow the others to step on their balloons. The last one with a balloon wins a prize.

  4. Step 4

Feed the partiers dainty sandwiches cut into girlie shapes. Have a fruit platter with decorative toothpicks for them to use. Serve pink lemonade or punch to drink. Decorate cupcakes with pink icing and glittery sugar crystals. Top each one with a ballerina cupcake topper the girls can take home as well.

  5. Step 5

Use small, pink drawstring bags for goodies and party favors. Fill them with sparkly stickers, candy necklaces and bracelets, pretty hair accessories and glittery gel pens or crayons.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you can get a hold of a bubble machine, your ballerina party will seem magical.
  • Do not serve peanut butter sandwiches or other peanut products unless you are certain none of the guests have a peanut allergy.
