The Canon PIXMA MP970 is a true all-in-one inkjet printer. You can preview images in high resolution on its 3.5-inch TFT display, scan beautiful images with color resolutions up to 9600 by 2400 dpi, copy important documents or family heirloom photographs, and print photos directly from memory cards, cameras, DV camcorders or camera phones. It even has a built in auto-image fix feature to make sure every image comes out clear and vivid. While the Pixma MP970 shines as a photo printer it is also a dandy office machine that can handle such mundane tasks as printing envelopes.

Instructions

1. Insure the envelopes are prepared for printing by pressing down on all four corners and along the edges to flatten them down. Flatten the leading edge of any envelope that is curled or puffed up by pressing down on it with a pen until its crease is sharp and defined.

2. Load up to 10 envelopes into the upper paper tray, print side up and flap side down. Align the envelopes with the bottom of the envelope against the right side of the Paper Support Guide. Pinch the Guide and slide it to the left until it is snug against the envelopes.

3. Press the "Paper Feed Switch" located below the "ON/OFF" switch on the operations panel to select the rear paper feed. The light above the Paper Feed Switch should indicate the Rear Paper Tray has been selected.

4. Open the print application on your computer. Select the "Media Type" option. Select "Envelope," and under the Page Size option select either "Comm. Env. #10" or "#10 Envelope." Under Orientation select "Landscape" and hit "Print."

Tips & Warnings

• The instructions are for #10 size envelopes only.

• Do not use the envelopes with a double flap, sticker flaps, an embossed or treated surface, pressure stickers or whose adhesive flaps are already moistened.

• Envelopes that are not flat or aligned may jam in the printer.

• Do not allow the Paper Guide to bind the envelopes or they may not feed properly.
