Step 1
Plastic dishpans make handy storage drawers for toys. Suspend them under a shelf or table with simple runners.
-
Step 2
Wooden storage cubes or plastic cases can serve as handy bins or shelves. You can even flip them over to be a stool.
-
Step 3
For an inexpensive bin, use sturdy cardboard boxes. To make them look a little nicer, cover the outside surfaces with shelf paper or other stick-on paper.
-
Step 4
For toddlers, they'll stand a better chance of helping clean up with less fuss if you provide large bins and baskets.
-
Step 5
For older children, store items on shelves. They can find what they'd like easier without having to sort through everything. However, baskets and bins would work nicely for things such as building sets, and large quantities of like items.
