How to Generate Traffic to Your Website

This is an article that will put your over-the-top in your online pursuit of success. Whether you are working with Affiliate Marketing, Blogging, Web Design, or just trying to develop an online presence for you or your company, you'll find this "how to" article to be extremely helpful.

1. 

   You must have a blog or website. Blogs are free and you can get one at www.blogger.com.

2. 

   Register your blog or website with alexa.com. Alexa.com is where you can see your traffic rank, for example, this is what is shown for my blog: Workhomeunion.blogspot.com has a traffic rank of 10,715,756. Not a great rating but it's a start. My website, workhomeunion.com, has a traffic rank of 20,232,598; so compared to the website, my blog is not
   doing too bad. Neither ranking is anything to write home about, but my marketing department is on top of it! OK, I don't have a marketing department yet, but I'm working on it.

3. Sign up and develop a relationship with the top 7 ranked companies on the Internet. The top 7 ranked companies are:
   
   Traffic Rank 1: Yahoo.com .. Set up a free geo-cities page.
   
   Traffic Rank 2: Google.com .. Setup an adsense account
   
   Traffic Rank 3: Youtube.com .. YouTube is a way to get your videos to the people who matter to you. Upload, tag and share your videos worldwide!
   
   Traffic Rank 4: Live.com (Windows) .. Sign up for MSN Hotmail, MSN Messenger, or a Passport account and this will be your Windows Live ID (see resource link).
   
   Traffic Rank 5: Facebook .. Setup a free facebook account and save your ehow, associate content, helium articles to facebook
   
   Traffic Rank 6: Msn.com .. Setup your MyMSN Page and put your favorite links (your blog) at the very top of the page.
   
   Traffic Rank 7: Myspace.com .. Setup a free MySpace account.

Tips & Warnings

• Set aside about an hour or two of your day to set up the 7 accounts and it will pay dividends down the road.
• This will put you in the position to create residual income, in other words, make money while you are sleep!
• Don't procrastinate. Do it now!
