Things You'll Need:

  • Belife in yourself
  1. Step 1

    Do Some Research:

Religious texts are a good place to start. I am not advocating one over another; The Bible should be placed in the same respect as The Koran, and The Torah.

Also try reading some philosophy, like Hobbs, Kant and Socrates.

Read them for their lessons, philosophy, and take note of where they overlap, and where your own beliefs correspond with what you're reading.

The goal here is to educate yourself about as many religions and philosophies as you can.

  2. Step 2

    Meditate:

Whatever this means to you. Some meditate through prayer, others need the candles and chants to unwind. The important thing here is that this is YOU time. Take a daily break from the world, even if it's only 10-20 minutes a day.

  3. Step 3

    Keep an Open Mind!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be at peace
  • Live and let live
  • Harm none
  • This is not about religion. This is about finding 'something' within one's self, be it God, confidence, or a thirst for knowledge.
  • Spirituality and religion are not mutually exclusive.

on 1/21/2009 I liked the article. I believe the mind is construct, that is a gateway for any and all things. I guess I just described an open mind. How wonderful it would be to be able to use the mind to its fullest capacity.

on 12/1/2008 Jesus was Man, God and Prophet... as for a lunatic... we all have a little crazy in us... but finding that spirit inside of us that is called god by most of us means taking a different path than others... what difference does it make as long as we all come to the same god or peace in the end ... Great article!!!5*
