Step 1
To cross-pollinate roses first, find which rose will be the donor/male and which one will be the receptor/female. Carefully, emasculate the receptor of all pollen-bearing anthers. Make sure you do not damage the female organ.
-
Step 2
Next, make sure the pollen is mature on the donor (should leave a little dust on your finger). When mature, take a small paint brush and rub gently over the pollen bearing anther on the donor and transfer the pollen to the stigma on the female part of the receptor. Continue this until it starts drying up, this indicates that the stigma can no longer take any pollen. The pedals of the rose should fall off and the rose fruit (hips) should then develop.
-
Step 3
When the fruit matures it will turn bright red. When mature you may then harvest the fruit and allow it to dry. Gently crush when dry, separate out the small seeds from litter.

Step 4
Under proper conditions, sow. If you are attempting outside, cover the fertilized rose with a sack to prevent insects. If attempting in a greenhouse this will not be necessary.
