Here's how to duplicate a file in the Macintosh OS X finder.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Locate the Icon of the file you want to Duplicate in the finder.

  2. Step 2

    Hold down the Control (ctrl) button while you click once on the icon.

    (If you have a two button mouse, right click on the icon.)

  3. Step 3

    Select Duplicate from the pop-up window that appears.

  4. Step 4

    Find the duplicate, and rename it if necessary. The duplicate file appears in the same location on the computer as the original. It has the original file name followed by the word "copy".
