How to make white chocolate cream cheese buttercream frosting

If you want to try something a little different from the ordinary buttercream frosting give this recipe a try. It's a very decadent and delicious frosting. It can go with just about any flavor of cake like carrot or chocolate.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixer
  • microwave safe bowl
  • rubber spatula
  • whisk
  • 9 oz. bakers white chocolate
  • 12 oz. cream cheese (softened)
  • 6oz. unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
  1. Step 1

    In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate for 1 or 2 minutes. Using the whisk stir the chocolate until completely smooth and no lumps are visible. Let cool for 5 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with the mixer on high until smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Gradually beat in the melted chocolate into the cream cheese until well incorporated.

  4. Step 4

    Add the unsalted butter to the cream cheese mixture beating until smooth. Then add lemon juice and beat for 1 or 2 more minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • When using unsalted butter, I find that the Land O' Lakes butter is best.
  • Always use caution when handling heated chocolate!
