Things You'll Need:
- picture id
- fingerprinting
- drug test
- 1 hour training
-
Step 1
Substitute Training
This is State-mandated training and lasts 1 hour. This training is offered once a month. After the training, you will be issued a certificate of completion. This is usually held at the local school board. -
Step 2
Fingerprinting
Call in ask where you should go to get finger printed and ask how much does it cost. When I obtain my fingerprints, they did it at the school board electronically; and the fee was $56.25 at that time. -
Step 3
Drug testing
You will be given a appointment time for the test. It must be done the day you complete your substitute paperwork. There is no cost to you for this test. After your drug test, you will be given a form. Bring this form back to the school board office. -
Step 4
Paperwork
You will be given a packet of paperwork to complete. In addition to the paperwork, you will need a copy of your driver's license, social security card, and a copy of your highest level of education. They can accept a copy of your diploma or transcript. -
Step 5
Picture ID badge
The school board will make your picture ID badge after your paperwork is processed. Once your drug test and finger prints are cleared, you may stop by and pick up your badge. It usually takes 2-3 days.
