Did the title grab your attention? The first time my children told me they wanted to make dirt, I thought, "isn't there dirt in the back yard already?" This pudding recipe is a quick and easy dessert that is perfect for any time of the year. The ingredients listed here are for one serving of the best tasting dirt you'll ever eat.

Difficulty: Easy

  • Four gummy worms
  • Sandwich bag
  • Mug or cup
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

Layer the bottom of your mug with the contents of one chocolate pudding cup.

  2. Step 2

    Add a few gummy worms.

  3. Step 3

Add the contents of the second pudding cup on top of the gummy worms.

  4. Step 4

Place the Oreo cookies inside the sandwich bag and crush them using your fist.

  5. Step 5

Sprinkle the Oreo cookies over the top of the mug. A few gummy worms sticking out of the cup is a nice touch.

  6. Step 6

Are you ready to eat dirt? This pudding recipe is quick and easy and likely to please children and adults alike.

Tips & Warnings
  • My youngest daughter came up with her own variation of this pudding recipe. She isn't crazy about pudding, so she substituted her favorite flavor of ice cream for the pudding and still added the gummy worms and Oreo cookies.
  • Two pudding cups can be a bit much for younger children, so just half everything for a smaller, but still filling dessert.
  • Served in a glass mug, it might be fun to see the worms in the "dirt".
  • The ingredients for this pudding recipe are easily transported, so try it on your next camping trip for a nice treat to eat around the campfire.

on 2/7/2009 Oh, the kiddies LOVE this. We used to eat at a restaurant that offered something similar on ice cream and called it "Garbage Can Sundae", a real kid-pleaser! Thanks for sharing this. *****
