3. Keep accessories and jewelry subtle and elegant. Excellent choices for jewelry include classics such as pearls, delicate diamonds and simple chains.

4. When in doubt, use the "interview" rule. If you wouldn't wear the outfit to a job interview, don't wear it to the wake or funeral.
