Begin by either saving or buying rubber bands of all sizes, widths and colors. Starting one is simple, and making one is fun. Make Rubber band ball in any size, with the smaller ones being the highest bouncers, to the larger ones becoming a book end. Just like a puzzle, anyone can add more rubber bands, or remove those that have snapped.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Package of mixed sized rubber bands.
  1. Step 1

Crumple a piece of aluminium foil tightly. Take a rubber band and open and close it around the foil until it is tightly around the foil. Repeat, using smaller rubber bands to give the rubber band ball a secure start towards making the rubber band ball.

Continue in this fashion, wrapping the smaller rubber bands, tightly over each other, until you need a larger sized rubber band to fit the larger rubber band ball.

  3. Step 3

Keep wrapping around and around, making sure there are no loose rubber bands on the rubber band Ball.

  4. Step 4
Look how much larger it is

Watch how the small rubber band ball is now larger, and requires even a larger sized rubber band.

Stop adding rubber bands when you have the size rubber band ball you want, either smaller or much larger.

Tips & Warnings
  • The smaller the ball the higher it bounces.
  • Bouncing eventually will cause a rubber band to snap. Just remove the broken rubber band and add another rubber band.
  • Making the Rubber Band Balls can be a fun thing to do at a kids birthday party. They make them, and then take them home.
  • Be careful of the rubber bands. Sometimes they are thin and will snap as you stretch them.
