Step 1
Here are some great ideas for halloween treats for your halloween party.
Halloween Cookies:
3/4 cup softened light butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
4 oz baking chocolate
Any kind of candy to put on top
1 small tube of any kind of icing you choose.
Melt chocolate on low heat, stir often. Set aside, combine other ingredients.. In large bowl, mix together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and whip until well mixed. Gradually stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Then, fold in melted, slightly cooled chocolate until blended. Split dough in half, wrap it in a non-stick plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Scoop teaspoons full of dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2in. a part on cookie sheets. Bake 7 to 9 minutes Remove from oven and immediately press the candy you have chosen in the middle of each cookie. Let them cool for one minute, then remove from cookie sheets to completely cool. Draw rim around edge of each cookie with any icing, as well as around each candy. -
Step 2
Halloween Cupcakes:
Cake:
1 box French vanilla cake mix
1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 package (1.1 oz) instant chai tea latte mix
Frosting:
1 cup white vanilla baking chips
1 container (1 lb) vanilla frosting
Decorating:
you can decorate the cupcakes anyway you like.
I made orange spiderwebs with black spiders.
Or, you can just put plastic halloween rings on them and/or candy.
Heat oven to 350°F. Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.
In large bowl, beat cake ingredients with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.
Bake 18 to 23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
In medium microwavable bowl, microwave baking chips on High 30 seconds; stir until melted. If necessary, microwave 15 seconds longer. Stir until smooth; cool 5 minutes. Stir in frosting until well blended.
Immediately spread or pipe frosting mixture on cupcakes.Store loosely covered at room temperature -
Step 3
Marshmellow mummys:
Skinny Pretzel Sticks
Big Marshmallows or mini
6 Chocolate Wafer Cookies
1 Fruit Roll Up
Rice Crispies Cereal
Hershey's chocolate dessert topping candies
Take 3 big marshmallows and your pretzel stick
Poke the pretzel stick all the way through 1 marshmallow, and then push the other 2 marshmallows onto each end
Open your fruit roll up package and roll the fruit tape around the bottom marshmallow so if you cut the ends of the fruit tape it would touch the other end when rolled around the marshmallow.
Snip the fruit tape with scissors at the point where both ends would meet
Take the paper off the fruit tape. Then take each of the 3 strips and wrap each around the marshmallow keeping the untidy ends that don't meet up in the back where no one can see them.
Continue wrapping each till you get to the last marshmallow.
Wrap the last marshmallow, leaving an area for the mummy's eyes. Take something sharp and pointy
Then drop in the Hershey's chocolate dessert topping candies where the holes are and press gently on them to set them in place
Pop your chocolate wafer cookies in the microwave until they are warm
Separate the 2 cookie ends and scrape out the frosting in the middle.
Place the de-frosted cookies in a sealed bag.
Smash the cookies until ground into a fine powder
This will be the dirt for the mummy
cereal will be our maggot worms
Empty the cookie dirt onto a plate in a nice rectangular pile.
Place your marshmallow mummy on the dirt. Then stick in some of the maggot worms around him.
