How to Replace a Power Mirror in a Lincoln Navigator
The Lincoln Navigator's complex power mirror and door panel construction makes it a replacement project for an experienced do-it-yourself vehicle owner. However, the project only requires a few basic tools for all model years.

Remove the Old Mirror

Disconnect the negative battery cable before you take the front door trim panel off the Navigator's door. Remove all screws and clips and carefully pry the panel from the door.

Detach the power mirror electrical wire connector located under the door panel.

Take off the mirror sail cover to disconnect the mirror. Remove three nuts from the power mirror.

Remove the outside rear view mirror. Guide the power wire through the hole in the door.
Install the New Mirror

Replace the old mirror. Put the new power mirror in place. Feed the new wiring through the hole in the door.

Install and tighten the three retaining nuts in reverse order. Replace the sail cover.

Connect the power mirror wiring to the connection located on the door panel.

Put the front door trim panel back in place. Secure all clips and tighten all screws.

Connect the Lincoln Navigator's battery cable to restore the power.

Tips & Warnings
If the outside mirrors are frozen, they must be thawed prior to adjustment. Do not attempt to free-up the mirror by pressing on the glass.
Reconnect the Navigator negative battery cable and test the power mirror before completely tightening down the door trim panel to make sure it works.
For safety reasons, it's vital to disconnect the car's battery before starting to avoid injury.
It's important to remove the negative cable from your battery before you start working on your mirror replacement.
