How to Receive a Greeting From the White House
The White House will send greetings for some birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other milestones. To receive a signed congratulatory letter from the president, make a request at least six weeks before the event or before you would like the recipients to receive the letter.

Know the guidelines. The White House will send greetings to U.S. citizens for the birth of a child; high school or college graduation; birthdays for people 80 or older; anniversary greetings for couples celebrating 50 years or more; condolences to immediate family members; Eagle Scout or Girl Scout Gold Awards; or Bar or Bat Mitzvah or equivalent religious milestone.

Include the name and address of the person you wish to receive the greeting, along with their title, and the month, day and year of the event. Include your name and a phone number where you can be reached during the daytime.

You can only make one request per day. You can make the request by faxing 202-456-2461.

Go to whitehouse.gov; this site has a form where you can send a message to the president.

Alternately, make the request with your congressman or senator at least six weeks before the event.
