How to Adjust Brake Pedal Height in a Toyota Tundra
The Toyota Tundra is a full-size pick-up truck popular with people who need a truck for hauling. Many owners of Tundras like to adjust the amount of brake give or the space a driver has between when they press on the brakes and when the brake engages. If you want to, adjusting the brake pedal height is easy in a Toyota Tundra with just a little knowledge.

1
Follow the brake pedal up to where it attaches to a rod called the push rod. Locate the bolts (called lock bolts) on the push rod.
-
2
Look for the stop light switch above the push rod. Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch and loosen the lock bolt using your line wrench on the stop light switch.
-
-
3
Loosen the lock bolt on the push rod using your line wrench.
-
4
Take your pliers and loosen the push rod. To get it tighter, turn it to the left. If you need it looser, turn it to the right.
-
5
Reconnect the stop light switch until it just barely contacts the pedal.
-
6
Tighten all the lock bolts using your line wrench once you think you've loosened or tightened your push rod enough. Make sure the bolts won't loosen easily.
-
7
Measure the amount of brake give you've given yourself with your ruler. Put the ruler against the brake and lift it as high as you can, using your fingers. Then press against the brake until it makes contact with the other side. After adjusting, if this amount is less than 0.5 mm, you'll have to adjust your push rod again or your brakes will drag. In general, you shouldn't adjust your brakes so the amount is greater than 2 mm.
