Instructions

    • 1

Turn off your Volkswagen Beetle before you remove fuses. Look on the left side of the dashboard by the driver to find the fuse box.

    • 2

Use a screwdriver to lift the fuse box cover. Use the symbols on the inside cover to locate the fuse that you need to replace.

    • 3

Remove the fuse by placing your thumb and index finger on it and pull. Check the silver band in the middle to verify it's blown.

    • 4

Obtain a new fuse with the same rating as the one you removed. Push it into place until it clicks into place.

    • 5

Close the fuse box and restart your Volkswagen Beetle. Test the fuse to verify the fuse you replaced resolved your electrical issue.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are also a few fuses on top of the battery under the hood, but it's unlikely the fuse you need will be there.

  • Call your local dealer if you have trouble determining which fuse belongs to which electrical action since the symbols on the inside cover can be difficult to decipher.
