Many people suffer from dry skin during the winter months. The main reason is the lack of moisture in the air caused by nature outdoors and by heaters indoors. There are a few steps that can reduce the effects of anyone suffering from dry winter skin.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Always apply an alcohol-free moisturizer after ever shower and bath.

  2. Step 2

Limit your shower time to no longer than 10 minutes and use lukewarm water. Hot water steals the natural oils of your skin.

  3. Step 3

Always use a humidifier at home and, if possible, at work.

  4. Step 4

Use soft fabrics. Some fabrics, such as wool, can feel scratchy against dry skin and make the itchiness worse.

  5. Step 5

Avoid eating or drinking anything that may dehydrate you. These things include coffee, caffeinated sodas, alcoholic beverages, and chocolate.

  6. Step 6

Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your skin is red or swallen, see a dermatologist for treatement.
