Make Your Own Herbal Oatmeal Scrub

Exfoliate your skin, unclog your pores without spending big money on store bought herbal facial scrubs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup whole almonds
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender
  • 1 tablespoon dried peppermint
  • 1 tablespoon dried comfrey
  • ½ cup white cosmetic clay
  1. Step 1

    In a clean food processor, and done separately, finely grind the oats, almonds, and the dried herbs.

  2. Step 2

    Thoroughly combine the oats, almonds, and herbs.

  3. Step 3

    Thoroughly mix the cosmetic clay with the oats mixture

  4. Step 4

    Store dry scrub in an airtight container and keep in a cool dry place.

  5. Step 5

    To use, mix one heaping teaspoon of the scrub with a few drops of warm water at a time to make a moist paste.

    Massage paste onto your damp skin, let it sit for a minute, the rinse well with warm water.

Tips & Warnings
  • This scrub may be used daily.
  • If you don't use scrubs often (as in once or twice a year,) then store unused
  • portion in the freezer to prevent the almond powder from going rancid.
  • Use only high quality ingredients.
  • Lavender, comfrey, and peppermint have mildly astringent and antibacterial properties.
  • Lavender essential oil can also help balance your skins oil production.
