How to Massage Away Facial Tension For Better Vision

In an earlier article I explained how several exercises could be used to ease eye strain for better vision. Simple, basic massage and acupressure techniques can relax the facial muscles and related eye muscle attachments.

Instructions

    • 1

      FOREHEAD STROKE:

Using your finger tips, gently stroke outward from the center of the forehead to the hairline.

    • 2

      BRIDGE SQUEEZE:

Use the middle fingers of both hands to press gently inward at the bridge of the nose.

    • 3

      BROW TO HAIRLINE SQUEEZE:

Place the thumbs under the center of the eye brow. Feel at the edge of the eye socket for a notch.

Place fingers at hairline on both sides. Gently squeeze thumbs towards fingers.

    • 4

      UNDER EYE PRESS:

Using 3 fingers of each hand, find the space between the eye orbit and the top of the cheek bone. Press gently.

    • 5

      TEMPLE CIRCLES:

Use 1 or more fingers to perform circular motions at the temples.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do all massage techniques for 15-30 seconds or more if you'd like.

  • Doing facial massage, as well as, the eye exercises from my previous article will assist you in maintaining (or regaining), improved vision and relieving eyestrain.

  • Don't use too much pressure for the sensitive eye area.
