How to Find Free Business Grants For Women

Business grants for women are funded through various sources to inspire up and coming women entrepreneurs of various ages and ethnic back grounds.

1. Women's business center program is a national network that provides
   free educational resources and grant funding to assist women start and grow successful small businesses. Their mission is to "level the playing field for women entrepreneurs still facing unique obstacles in the
   business world."

2. Women's Business Ownership of the United States is focused toward women’s issues and programs. The organization trains representatives to assist women with funding issues and start up procedures.

3. Various Community organizations and private companies take pride in funding women entrepreneurs. They vary by state and can come with a lot of paper work, but is worth it if the grant is awarded. Look in resource box below for listing of organizations that fund women business'.

4. SCORE short for "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and obtaining fancial means to begin business. Sore is not totaly geared to women in business but does have individual programs to help women starting or expanding a business.

Tips & Warnings

• Grants to start a new business can be of any amount, but usualy range from $500 to $5,000. Non profit business' tend to get the higher funding amount.
• Grants for women to grow a existing business tend to range from $1,000 to $10,000. Again higher grants usually go to non-profit business' or business who is community oriented. Business must be able to show strong financial planning and how the extension of the business will improve there business mission.
