- 1/4 to 1/2 Tbsp hot mustard powder (or to taste)
- 1 Tbsp finely diced onion
- 1/8 tsp salt

- Note: this mixture is for 12 eggs halved (24 deviled eggs)
-
Step 1
Hard boiled eggsTo make a spicy deviled egg filling, start with a bowl of freshly boiled hard boiled eggs. (For easy directions on making hard boiled eggs, see my article in the Related Articles section of this page.)
-
Step 2
Slice eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks using an iced tea spoon or something similar. Place yolks into a medium-sized bowl and mash well with a fork.
-
Step 3
Add the mayo, mustard powder, onion, salt (if desired) and red pepper seasoning (also optional) to the mashed yolks and mix until smooth. Fill the egg halves with the spicy deviled egg filling.
-
Step 4
Spicy Deviled EggsArrange deviled eggs neatly on a platter or deviled egg tray. Sprinkle a dash of paprika on top of eggs to add color and just a little taste. Serve the deviled eggs made with spicy deviled egg filling and enjoy the compliments. :)
