Make Quick Stuffed Cabbage or Pigs In A Blanket

Do you hate the time and preparation it takes to make stuffed cabbage? I tried to make it once and decided to never attempt it again! THIS quicker, easy recipe ROCKS!!!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 C. chopped onion
  • 1/2 C. rice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 C. water
  • 1/4 C. grated parmesan cheese
  1. Step 1

Chop the cabbage into medium pieces and spread them on the bottom of a greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Spread the rice in just before adding the top layer of the cabbage. (I like using Uncle Ben's rice)

  2. Step 2

Brown the meat and onion in a large skillet; drain fat. Stir in salt and pepper. Spoon mixture over the cabbage.

  3. Step 3

In small saucepan, heat tomato soup and water to boiling. Pour over all ingredients in pan. Sprinkle with cheese.

  4. Step 4

Cover pan tightly with foil and bake in a preheated 350 degree F. oven for 1 1/2 hours.

on 3/21/2009 I love this recipe. Thank you. I usually steamed the cabbage and then add pork ribs, added a bit of salt and then vinegar/msg that's it. I will try this one. Good tips.

on 3/4/2009 This sounds good, do you cook the rice first or just add it in as is?
