Extend the Life of Your Batteries

It never fails, just when you need a flashlight, cell phone, laptop or any other battery operated device, the batteries have gone dead. You can extend the life of your batteries with simple techniques that will help you save money in the end.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Store your regular batteries in a refrigerator when not in use. Keeping batteries in a cool place, keeps them fresh for when you need them. Make sure their cool and not freezing.

  2. Step 2

Lower the lights on your hand-held devices. Keep the light settings on laptops, phones and other devices at the lowest possible setting that’s comfortable for you.

  3. Step 3

Shut down any unnecessary software on a laptop. Anything you’re running, even in the background will reduce battery time. And take advantage of your standby and hibernate modes.

  4. Step 4

Avoid using the LCD screen on a digital camera. That little screen is a huge energy drain.
