Here's how to strap in to snowboard bindings for the very first time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snowboard boots
  • Snowboard with bindings
  1. Step 1

Sit down in the snow if you are a beginner. Hold onto your board and tilt it toward your feet.

  2. Step 2

Use your hands to knock all loose snow out of the inside of both bindings. They should be clear of ice and snow.

  3. Step 3

Put your front foot into the front binding.

  4. Step 4

Lift the straps out of the way and guide your heel into the very back of the binding. Make sure there is no space between your heel and the back of the binding. Some riders kick their heels back to make sure the fit is tight.

  5. Step 5

Attach the strap around your heel area. This is called the heel strap. Guide the tooth end of the strap into the clicker. Either rachet the binding shut or push down on the lever to close the strap. The strap should be snug.

  6. Step 6

Now attach the toe strap in the same manner. It should also be snug but not overly tight.

  7. Step 7

Now strap in your rear foot. This binding should be the same tightness as the front foot.

  8. Step 8

Make sure that all your straps are fastened, and stand up on your board.

  9. Step 9

    Ride away!
