Things You'll Need:
- Time to try suits on
- A friend who will be honest!
- Memorize these tips
-
Step 1
None of these models need to be hiding their tummies (obviously!) However, each picture demonstrates a different way to effectively minimize tummies.Take a friend and try suits on. Don't think just because you know what size you SHOULD be that it will be easy to snag the perfect suit. Make sure your friend gives you the low down on what looks good on you. Rouched? High neck? Halter? Tankini? You may just be surprised what is most flattering.
-
Step 2
If you are truly trying to hide a tummy, stick with darker colors. Light colors are enticing but they are like a high lighter right to your mid section. Dark colors are definitely more flattering to a belly.
-
Step 3
Look for suits that are specifically made to hide tummies. Some examples: suits that are rouched around the middle (see picture), Suits that have diagonal lines that wrap around your waist (makes your waist appear slimmer) tankinis that the top and bottom meet (the line breaks up the fullness of your tummy) and big patterns (camouflages any "extra" around the mid section) all are great choices.
-
Step 4
Don't buy something that is too busy with embellishments or extra fabric in the middle. We want to conceal, not necessarily bring everyone's attention straight to our midsection!

on 9/24/2008 Ya know, I don;t know a single guy who sys to his buddies, "Let's go try on swinsuits!" Unfortunately for you ladies this is a concern, but us guys just will let it all hang out or work it off at the gym! ;-)
