How to Cook Fried Plantains - Fried Plantains Recipe

This is a very easy recipe and tasty too. If you are on Weight Watchers 1 Cup of Fried Plantains = 4 Value Points.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Ripe Plantain
  • Fry pan
  • oil (canola, vegetable, or olive)
  • knife
  1. Step 1

    Peel a ripe plantain and slice about 3/4" thick.

  2. Step 2

    Heat oil in fry pan over medium heat, use no more than one inch of oil.

  3. Step 3

    Fry on both sides until golden brown.

  4. Step 4

    Remove from fry pan to drain on paper towel.

  5. Step 5

    Enjoy the plantains while they are hot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not get the oil too hot because they will cook too fast and burn.
  • Be careful not to let the hot oil spatter when adding the sliced plantains to the pan.
