Making a lasagna dinner is a quick and easy way to feed your family. I like it because you can prepare it easily and cheaply (who doesn't like cheap these days?)plus it is a good "fill up your belly" food.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bake Dish (I normally use a 3Qt. dish to feed my family of 4)
  • Lasagne noodles
  • 1 Jar of Pasta Sauce (25oz.)
  • 1 Lb. of ground beef
  • 2 cups of mozarella cheese
  • 8 oz. of ricotta cheese
  1. Step 1

    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Brown the ground meat in a skillet pan. Drain excess oil and then add your jar of Pasta Sauce right into the pan and mix it all up.

  3. Step 3

Boil up lasagna noodles per the directions on the box - this usually take about 10 minutes once the water is boiling - and drain the water when done.

  4. Step 4

Build your dinner!! Put 3 or so long noodles lengthwise in the bottom of the baking dish and then top with meat sauce, some spoonfuls of ricotta cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. Put 3 more noodles on top of that and build again using the same ingredients. Most pans will fit 2 layers so you are almost done!

  5. Step 5

Cover with tin foil and place in pre-heated oven for about 30 minutes or until all of the cheese on top is melted. Add some Italian bread and you have dinner in about 45 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put some of the meat/sauce mixture in the bottom of the pan before building the first layer. This keeps your noodles moist on the bottom.
  • You can also build your lasagna the night before and then place in the oven for dinner the next day!

on 9/23/2008 My mom taught me the tip you gave about putting meat/sauce on the bottom of the pan, and like you said, it really makes it good all the way down to the bottom layer!
