Get A Online Data Entry Application Noticed.

Data entry is a great way for a individual to work at home. Unfortunately for every online data entry job opening there is usually over a hundred qualified applicants. With so many qualified applicants, most applications are sent through a data base and only a few are viewed by the Hiring Manager. Learn how to get your application to the desk of the Hiring Manager.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with internet connection.
  • Typing ability.
  1. Step 1

Be honest with yourself and to the companies that you are applying for. Employers that hire home based workers know that they must be able to trust their employees to work at home. If one remark on your application is found to be false or not documented correctly, the application will be thrown away.

  2. Step 2

Use keywords wisely when filling out the applications and creating a resume. Companies use database searches to sort through the massive amounts of applicants. Look at the companies website to get an idea of what skills they are looking for. Use their vocabulary when typing up skills. For example if they say "must type 65 wpm" typing ability 70 wpm, not typing ability 70 words per a minute. Be careful not to overuse keywords.

  3. Step 3

Do not leave empty blanks or unanswered questions when filling out a application for a data entry job. Spelling and grammar errors will cause a application to be overlooked.

  4. Step 4

Most data entry jobs online require typing and knowledge tests when applying. This process helps the hiring manger find applicants with the best skills. So it is best to take your time to prepare for the tests by getting rid of distractions and be well rested before sitting down to complete the tests.

  5. Step 5

Apply to more then one data entry position. With all the applicants for each job one should never limit themselves to just trying to get a home based job at one specific company. Use Resources below to star your search.
