If you having problems falling asleep, there are many things you can do to have a good night sleep. Here are few helpful hints.

      Set a time so you and your family to go to sleep about the same time or little bit later. This means all TV, loud music, computer goes off at a certain time, so the noise would not keep you awake.

      Take Melatonin supplement 5mg - usually found in the vitamin section of department stores and drug stores.

      Melatonin is a natural supplement that is different and does not have the side effects of prescription and over the counter sleep medicines. Our bodies naturally produce melatonin, but as we get older, melatonin decreases.

      Make sure the pillows, comforter and mattress are comfortable. If they are not, consider buying a pillow and mattress that is firm or that suits you.

      Check the temperature in the room- that it is not too hot or too cold, but just right, usually 69 or 70 degrees.

      Maintain a room that is free of clutter, papers and clothes lying everywhere.

      Close the blinds, and pull curtains to prevent outdoor lights from shining on you. Dim the lights in your room or keep a nightlight on. - this prepares your mind that is time to sleep.

      Have a cup of celestial seasonings honey vanilla chamomile tea- puts you to sleep in minutes.

      Take a bath about an hour or 2 hours before going to bed to relieve yourself of any stress and tension.

      Download calm, soothing, inspirational, classic or instrumental music to your mp3 player and place in your ears and sleep with it throughtout the night.

      You can also use a CD that has soothing music or the Bible on Cd (might have in the library) but place in a CD player that has repeat button, so you can hear it all night.

      If you are boggled down with the problems and concerns of the day, your job and kids, this is one way to relax your mind and body.

      Recognize if you are stressed, worried or fearful about anything. It could be:
      -money or financial problems
      -children and spouse
      -people at work
      -whatever it may be. - this can possibly be the reason as to what is keeping you awake.
      Talk to your spouse, trusted friend, pastor or counselor.

      Beware of the side effects of any prescription medications or over the counter drugs that may be keeping you awake. Some of side effects include depression, agitation or confusion.

      Refrain from caffeine and alcohol consumption before going to bed.
