How to Install the Optional Tray 2 on an HP cp1700 Printer
Although Hewlett-Packard has discontinued production of its Color Inkjet CP1700 Series Printers, there are still lots of these printers in use and lots of people who love them because their ink costs are among the lowest in the industry for an ink jet printer. Because these units use individual ink cartridges and print heads, replacement costs are kept to a minimum. These printers are also favorites with users who need over-sized paper capacity, and heavy users love the printer’s paper-handling options, which include a hand-feed slot in the rear, a 10-sheet bypass feeder that lets you print on letterhead without accessing the primary paper tray, and an optional 250-sheet secondary paper tray.

Tips & Warnings
Tray 2 can only be used with plain paper. If you need to print on inkjet paper, photo paper, transparencies, or other specialty papers you will need to load them into one of the other paper handling options.
