How to Feed Cats Table Scraps
It's easy to treat pets like children, so you might find yourself spoiling them from time to time. Cats enjoy treats and they always want what you are having. It's okay to fee them table scraps every once in a while, but it has to be done in a way that doesn't make the cat feel that it can beg or get on top of the table.

Prepare your meal and sit at the table to eat your meal. Don't allow the cat to jump up on the table, because you never want the cat to think it will get table scraps all of the time.

Finish your dinner and leave a few pieces of meat for the cat. You should stick to feeding your cat tuna, chicken, beef or turkey. Avoid spicy foods and desserts, because your cat could have a reaction or gain weight.

Put the table scraps in your cat's food dish so that the cat knows it has to eat on the floor. The cat might beg by your feet but at least it won't be walking all over your table and getting fur in your food. If your cat is persistent, try giving it the table scraps before you eat.

Keep water by your cat's food bowl and limit the amount of food scraps you give your cat. Even if your cat meows over and over again, don't give it any more scraps.
