Tagging bookmarks is one of the easiest ways to find your favorite sites. You simply use words that you associate with different sites to group bookmarks together so that you can find what you need quickly.

From Quick Guide: Browser History Help
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mozilla Firefox version 3
  1. Step 1

Open your Firefox browser, and bookmark one of your favorite websites. To bookmark a website, type it into the address bar and then click the star icon on the right side of the address bar.

  2. Step 2

Go to the bookmarked site. The clear star that is normally on the right side of the bar is now yellow.

  3. Step 3

Click the yellow star. A little window will pop up that says "Edit Bookmark" There will be a field where you can add or edit tags.

  4. Step 4

Add or edit tags in the field and then click done. Once you have your tags, they will instantly be accessible from the Menu bar. For example, if you made a "shopping" tag for amazon.com and bluefly.com, both of those will show up instantly the next time you type "shopping" in the address bar.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have a lot of bookmarks that all under one heading, try using two and three-letter combinations for specific sites. For example. if you have Wikipedia and Ehow under the reference tag, try giving them a "wki" and "eh" tags respectively so you can get to the individual site you want quickly without scrolling through all your reference sites (or typing the address out completely).
