Step 1
Use the basic wrapping method for some of your square or rectangular Christmas gifts. Lay a square piece of furoshiki cloth on your workspace diagonally with the decorative side facing down. As you face the cloth, it should look like a diamond. Fold the bottom corner up over the gift box. Lift the top corner downward and lay it over the gift, as well. Raise the two side corners upward and tie them in a simple double knot at the center.
-
Step 2
Use the four tie wrapping method as an alternative to vary the appearance of your packages. Set the cloth down as in Step 1. Lift the two side corners and tie them together around the gift. Then, tie the top and bottom corners on top, creating the appearance of a bow.
-
Step 3
Wrap round Christmas gifts such as basketballs and soccer balls by first tying the very end of two corners on one side. Then tie the other two corners in the same manner. Push one tie through the loop of the other, and pull the cloth upward to close the package.

Step 4
Use a rolling method for long, round and slender Christmas gifts, such as bottles of wine and posters. Place the gift on the very edge of the bottom corner of the furoshiki cloth. Begin to roll the present in the cloth. Pull down the two corners that appear at the top and bottom of the item. Tie them at the center of the gift.

Step 5
Set the cloth down diagonally to wrap long packages such as ties and slender jewelry boxes. Place the present on the furoshiki cloth and tie the two corners on the upper right side. Push the bottom right corner through the loop created by the first tie. Pull the corner through all the way and tie it so that both knots match.
