Are you providing small gifts for your child's classroom this year, or do you need little candy holders to give to friends or co-workers? You will love the idea of making your own reindeer candy holders. These unique crafts made from recycled empty baby food jars, can be used to hold small gifts of candy and will make everyone smile this Christmas.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Empty baby food jars
  • Brown craft paint that can be used on glass
  • Paintbrush
  • Brown craft foam
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Hot glue gun
  • 2 small wiggly craft eyes
  • Small red pom pom
  • Red ribbon (optional)
  1. Step 1

Wash out the empty baby food jars and dry them completely.

  2. Step 2

Paint the outside of the baby food completely brown with craft paint. Make sure that the paint can be used on glass. Use a second coat of paint if you can still see the glass of the jar after the first coat. Let the paint dry on your reindeer's head before moving on.

  3. Step 3

Glue two wiggly craft eyes to the front of the painted baby food jar with hot glue. Glue the eyes down away from the lid of the jar, but leave plenty of room for a nose beneath them.

  4. Step 4

Use hot glue to attach a small red pom pom to the front of the jar beneath the wiggly craft eyes.

  5. Step 5

Cut two small antler shapes out of brown craft foam. If you aren't very creative, just trace the outline of a small twig with a few branches onto the craft foam.

  6. Step 6

Apply the two brown craft foam antlers to the back of the baby food jar with hot glue. One antler should be sticking up off of each side of your reindeer's head.

  7. Step 7

Fill your reindeer candy holder up with sweet treats and deliver it to your friends, family, or child's classroom.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tie a red ribbon into the shape of a bow, and glue it to the bottom of the painted jar below the reindeer's nose to add some extra color.
  • Supervise children if they are operating a hot glue gun.
