How to Make a Custom Calendar in Publisher
Microsoft Publisher is an especially useful application to have. It allows you to do all kinds of creative things. Publisher is great to use to construct a calendar. There are many options you can draw on to make it truly customized as well. As long as you already have Microsoft Publisher on your system, you can easily design your own custom calendar right now. Most of them can be completed in less than half an hour, too.

Open Microsoft Publisher’s Design Wizard tool. Access your program by clicking on the icon on your desktop (or taskbar), or through finding it under “Start” and then “All Programs.” If your Microsoft Publisher Catalog does not open automatically, select “File” and then “New…” to open it.

Select your calendar's size. Look on the left side of the catalog under “Wizards” and click on “Calendars.” You can even further narrow the selections presented by choosing either Full Page or Wallet Size. Click on the size you want to see the various designs you can start with. They will be shown on the right side. Use the scroll bar to view all possible designs.

Choose the basic details about your calendar. Pick one of the offered designs to begin. Do not worry if it is not exactly what you want because you will be able to make changes to customize it even more without difficulty. Try to merely find one that matches the idea you have in some way. Once you find one you can work with click on the “Start Wizard” button on the bottom right. You will then see your calendar on the right side of your screen and the wizard on the left. Click on the “Next” button.

Customize your new calendar. You can change the color scheme of your design. Simply choose the scheme you want from the numerous ones offered and click on the “Next” button. Select either Portrait or Landscape (Default) orientation for your calendar and then the “Next” button again. Choose Monthly or Yearly and then click on the “Next” button one more time. The last option you have to decide on with the wizard is the actual Start and End date of the calendar. You can use the present settings or change them easily. When you are done, click on the “Finish” button to view your newly-created custom calendar.

Tweak the calendar to really customize it. You can move any of the objects on your calendar by selecting them with your mouse. You can double click on any picture to change it to a different one. You can insert your own pictures, scanned items or other graphics by selecting “Insert” and then “Picture.” You can add text to the calendar on the actual days (click on them) or anywhere else (with the Text Frame Tool) as well. Once you have completed all of your customization, you can print your calendar.

Tips & Warnings
It is always a good idea to name and save your custom calendar as soon as you can. This way you will be able to access it later quickly.
