Creating some bug ice cubes are useful for two important reasons. First, you can make some creepy looking punch and have the bug ice cubes floating along the top. Second, you can add a few of these ice cubes to the drinks of your unsuspecting guests. They will get a scare and you will get a laugh. Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Wash out your plastic ice cube trays as well as the plastic bugs. Use dish soap and some hot water. You want everything to be clean and sanitary.

  2. Step 2

Fill the ice cube trays 3/4 of the way full of water.

  3. Step 3

Add one plastic bug to each ice cube section.

  4. Step 4

Add food coloring to some of the trays. This is for use in a punch bowl. If you are just serving a guest to scare them, don't tip them off with a colored ice cube. In that instance, you will leave some ice cubes plain with just the bugs.

  5. Step 5

Stir the water and food coloring in the ice cube section with a spoon. Choose the color based on the color of your punch. Red and green are the most popular colors because red signifies blood while the green signifies slime.

  6. Step 6

Place the ice cube trays in the freezer. They may take 2 to 3 hours to freeze all the way, depending on your freezer setting.

  7. Step 7

Place the ice cubes in the punch or in your friend's glass. When the ice melts, you will be left with some ugly bugs.

Tips & Warnings
