How to Install and Use Tab Mix Plus for the Firefox Browser

Tab Mix Pus is an add-on for the Firefox browser that includes several useful tab management options that include giving you complete control over your tab refreshment rate as well as tab alert customization. It also allows you to personalize the way your tabs are displayed. The Tab Mix Plus add-on is definitely a must for multi-tab browsers.

Things You'll Need:

• Mozilla Firefox Browser (any version)

1. Go to the Tab Mix Plus official website (see Resources) and download the latest version of the software. Once you download the software, Firefox will automatically install it into your add-on folder.

2. Restart Firefox. Once it is running again you will notice that your tabs look a little different due to the Tab Mix Plus.

3. Go to the tools button on the menu and select "Tab Mix Plus" options from the pull down menu. A pop-up menu will come up that shows all the default preferences.

4. Open the links tab. This sets your basic tab preferences. From here you can set how your browser will display website and download links in tabs.

5. Click over to the events tab. There are five sub tabs which manage individual features like tab merging and the Tab Undo function, which allows you to reopen previously closed tabs.

6. Select the Display Tab. This allows you to set preferences in regards to tab overflow and whether tab mode engages automatically.

7. Skip the mouse tab and go to the menu tab. This will allow you to check (or uncheck) several miscellaneous options like when and where to reload certain tabs.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't apply all the features at once, try to feel out a few at a time and decide which ones you want to engage and which ones you can live without
• Don't go into the advanced options unless you really are an expert, otherwise you could disable some of Tab Mix Plus' essential functions
