Things You'll Need:
- Popcorn maker
- Popcorn kernels, preferably natural, red and green colored
- Bowls
- Sewing needle
- Thread
-
Step 1
Set up the popcorn maker and start popcorn the natural popcorn, then the red and green kernels. The different colored kernels can be found in a variety of stores and on the Internet. Set the different popcorn varieties in bowls, separating them to make it easier when threading. Make sure all the popcorn is cool when you begin making the garland.
-
Step 2
Thread a sewing needle. Knot the end of the length of thread so the popcorn won't fall off. Be sure to have enough thread as you want for the length of the garland.
-
Step 3
Begin by picking up a kernel of the natural popcorn and sticking the needle through it, towards the middle of the kernel. Once through, push the popcorn needle towards the end of the length of thread. Then pick up a red kernel and do the same, making sure you bring the kernels to the end of the thread. Continue with the green kernel. Repeat the same sequence until the thread is nearly filled up.
-
Step 4
When the garland is filled with popcorn, cut the thread from the sewing needle and tie the end. You now have a colorful, Christmas-oriented popcorn garland. Use it to decorate the tree, walls or even the edges of a table.
