Origami is not just a craft, it is an art form. One popular item to make in origami is a heart envelope. This is endearing and can be used for anything from a simple everyday love letter to a Valentine's Day gift. It's easy to make and a lot of fun.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Square paper (one side red, the other white)
  • Flat surface
  • Tape
  1. Step 1

Place the square piece of paper on a flat surface, white side up. Fold the sheet in half from top to bottom. Make a strong crease. The unfold it and repeat in the opposite direction from left to right.

  2. Step 2

Unfold and flip the paper over. Fold in half from top to bottom again, then unfold and fold from left to right. Make sure all your creases are clean and crisp. Unfold the paper completely. You should have several crease lines now.

  3. Step 3

Tuck in both sides, left and right then top and bottom. Flatten the top. Then fold the top layer down so the red side is exposed. Turn over the paper and repeat on the other side so that both sides look the same.

  4. Step 4

Fold the top corners inward toward the center. Then, fold the top points down so the top half forms a heart top. Take a couple of pieces of tape and tape down the points so there aren't any flaps hanging around.

  5. Step 5

Flip over the heart and put a special item, such as a note or piece of jewelry, inside.
