Mac OS X Leopard Mail provides the convenience of a mail client and an RSS reader. With it you can keep track of all of your RSS feeds in one convenient place and have them delivered to your inbox or as a separate RSS feed. With a few tips, you'll be able to add and read RSS feeds in Mac OS X Mail.

Instructions

      The Mail RSS Feed column and View window.

      Launch "Mail," which is located in your Applications directory, and look at the bottom left-hand corner of the mail application. You will see a “+” icon. Click on the icon.

      Click the "+" icon and select "Add RSS Feed."

      Select "Add RSS Feed" from the three options that clicking the “+” icon gives you ("New Mailbox," "New Smart Mailbox" and "Add RSS Feed.") A dialogue box will open in Mail.

      Add the RSS Feed Link to this input box.

      Type in or paste your RSS feed into the dialogue box window and click “OK.” (There is also an option for importing your RSS feeds from Safari, if you wish to change your Safari RSS subscriptions to Mail-based RSS subscriptions.) Your new feed will be added to your RSS list in the left-hand column of Mail.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clicking the "Gear Box" icon in the lower left-hand corner of Mail offers the options of Deleting, Archiving and Renaming your RSS feed.
