Organize your clients and work projects before working with a time billing system. You’ll have an easier time with sending the correct bills to each client and then getting paid. Set aside some free time to create a list of each project, proposed due date and the client’s name. Keep all of these files in an easily accessible area within your immediate workspace.

Visit the ididwork homepage and register for a free account. Once you arrive on the homepage, you'll be able to view a brief demo about the service and what it has to offer. Click the "Demo Video" button to watch the presentation. There are two videos to choose from. One consists of using the service as an individual, and the other shows you how to use it with a team.

Select the "Create My Account" button to complete the registration process. You'll be instantly logged into your account after doing this. Enter a task in the available “What Did You Do?” box. There's a limit of 160 characters, so make it short. To provide more detail for your entered task, click the “Add Time Spent” and “Tag It” links. This will let you add a time duration to your current writing project and a useful tag to organize it.

Sign up for a Creative Pro Office account by visiting the home page. Click the "Get a Free Account" button in the center of the homepage. You’ll be instantly directed to a registration page to fill in some basic details. Enter your name, valid email address, username, password and a few other things. Once this has been done, agree to the Terms of Service by clicking the box next to it. Select the "Create My Account" button at the bottom of the page to complete the setup process.

Add your clients to the Creative Pro Office database by clicking the "Clients" tab. When the page opens, select the "Add a Client" link to begin the process. You’ll be able to fill in all of their necessary details. Enter the client’s name, company name, address and even their website. Select the "Save Client" button to finish setting them up. Begin adding your freelance writing projects by clicking the "Projects" tab.

Track your working hours for each individual client with Timesheets. This feature provides you with an easy way to glance at your hours. Each project will display the total number of hours spent on a client’s project. After entering all of your tracking data, create an invoice for your freelance writing work. Select each invoice that needs to be sent to a client and then click the "Actions" button to email it to them.
