How to Find Minneapolis' Best Tourist Spots
Minneapolis is the largest city in the Midwestern state of Minnesota. The city is known for its abundant amount of water, including waterfalls, creeks, lakes and wetlands. The city also has a strong love of the arts, like theater and writing (the city is considered to be one of the most highly literate in the country). Check out the Guthrie Theater. In existence since 1963, the first production put on here was a presentation of "Hamlet" by Sir Tyrone Guthrie, the namesake of the theater. Nowadays, the Guthrie Theater is a wonderful place to watch a great blend of both modern and classic productions (see Resources below).

Visit Minnehaha Park. Located in the southeastern section of the city, this park includes the 55-foot-high Minnehaha ("Laughing Water") Falls. Here, visitors will find statues of the main characters of Longfellow's "Song of Hiawatha." Spanning approximately 193 acres, this is one of the most pleasant and popular parks in all of Minnesota (see Resources below).

Go shopping at the Nicollet Mall. Located downtown, this shopping center is a beautiful area with many shops, restaurants and cafes. There are also various exciting attractions like the Minneapolis Planetarium. There are lots of skyscrapers here, like Norwest Center and Piper Jaffray Tower (see Resources below).

Explore the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. This 11-acre garden located in the midst of Minneapolis' cityscape has a large amount of sculptures. There also is the Cowles Conservatory, which has a sculpture pond, orange trees and palm trees. This is a relaxing and beautiful area to witness both greenery as well as artwork (see Resources below).

Go to the Hennepin History Museum. This is an interesting museum that has unusual items such as vintage street signs, bicycles, and clothes, all from the Hennepin County area. The Mall of America is located in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington, and is the largest mall in the country. It also includes an indoor amusement park.
Minneapolis can be extremely cold in the winter (Minnesota is often considered to be the coldest state), so be prepared if that is when you are planning your trip!
