Instructions

    • 1

Measure 1/4 inch of propylene glycol or other carrier oil into the bottom of the glass vase.

    • 2

Add drops of sage essential oil until the desired strength of the scent is achieved.

    • 3

Fill the vase with incense sticks. The sticks will immediately begin to absorb the scented oil.

    • 4

Cover the vase with the storage bag and secure the bag with a rubber band. Set the container in a cool, dry area and let it rest for at least a week as the sticks absorb all the oil.

    • 5

Burn the sticks as you would any purchased incense. Keep the bag over the top of the vase so the smell doesn’t dissipate from the sticks over time.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use a shallow baking sheet to dip the sticks. Simply mix your carrier and your oil in the pan and lay the sticks out to absorb the oils. Store the sticks in a sealed plastic bag.

  • If you have an overabundant harvest from your sage plants, dry the leaves and tie them tightly together with hemp or cotton twine. Light the end of the bundle and use the resulting smoke as a way of spreading the scent throughout your home.
