The windy city, otherwise known as Chicago, has something for even the most unique tastes. The history and culture that this city on the Lakes offers is not easily rivaled. Many travelers enjoy the tourist hot spots, but also crave something a bit on the different side.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn about the history of leather at the Leather Archives and Museum. Many of our great statesmen and women had leather fetishes and habits. Travel to 6418 N. Greenview Ave. Admission is free (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Make a trip to 454 N. Columbus Ave. This is the site for the infamous "Jerry Springer Show." Tickets are free, but you will need to call or write well in advance. If Jerry is a bit too harsh for your tastes, travel to 1058 W. Washington Blvd. This is where the Queen of the talk show--none other than Oprah Winfrey--holds court. Again, ticket are free but you'll need to call ahead (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

Slide on those 3D Glasses and travel to 1134 W. Washington Blvd. Here you will see the world's largest selection of holograms. The Museum of Holography is open from 12:30 4 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday, and there is a small admission cost.

  4. Step 4

See the last resting place of some of the country's most notorious millionaires by visiting Graceland Cemetery. Residents include George Pullman, Marshall Field, Daniel Burnham and Louis Sullivan. Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago's oldest, is also worth a look. It is set in a very Gothic style and offers free tours the first and third Saturday of the month.

Tips & Warnings
  • Observe etiquette when visiting the cemeteries.
